Beeslaar Wines has once again earned exceptional recognition in Tim Atkin MW’s South Africa Special Report 2026, with all four wines submitted receiving 93 points or higher – including an outstanding 98 points for The Sacrament 2023.
Leading the results is Beeslaar The Sacrament 2023, awarded 98 points and described by Atkin as “right up there with the best 2023 Stellenbosch reds”. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc from vineyards on the Helderberg and in Banghoek, the wine was praised for its depth, sculpted tannins and layered character. Even more impressively, Atkin rates it higher than the maiden 2022 release.
The Beeslaar Pinotage 2024 received an equally impressive 96 points. Atkin highlighted Abrie Beeslaar’s longstanding understanding of the variety, describing the wine as a finely judged expression of Pinotage with plum, wild strawberry, ginger and liquorice notes, supported by polished, “palate-caressing” tannins.
Completing a strong showing for the range, both the Beeslaar Chardonnay 2025 and Beeslaar Cape Courage 2023 received 93 points.

A profound Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc blend with layers of cassis, red cherry and basil, fine tannins and beautifully integrated oak.
96 points – Beeslaar Pinotage 2024
From a 26-year-old Stellenbosch bush-vine vineyard, combining plum, wild strawberry, ginger and liquorice with refined tannins and deftly handled oak.
93 points – Beeslaar Chardonnay 2025
A vibrant, barrel-fermented Chardonnay showing citrus, peach, green olive and delicate spice, with a fresh, racy finish.
93 points – Beeslaar Cape Courage 2023
An elegant Stellenbosch red blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Pinotage, Merlot and Petit Verdot contributing floral notes, bramble and summer berry fruit.
